Geothermal Systems in K-12 Educational Facilities
ClimateMaster is continually working with many K-12 Schools to improve educational experiences. How do we do this? By helping cut operational costs, reduce noise disruption and maximize indoor air quality.
ClimateMaster strives to meet the unique needs of today’s schools and educational facilities – and their students. Our wide geothermal heating and cooling solutions are perfect for multi- or single story school buildings with large common areas and/or hallways, and buildings with repeating floor plans.
Please take a look at our case studies to see how ClimateMaster geothermal systems are improving K-12 Educational facilities.
Christina Seix Academy
The Christina Seix Academy in New Jersey took its commitment to the community to great heights when it chose to build its eight-building, 64-acre campus, from the ground up, with sustainable materials and practices designed to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED® certification standards.
Radnor Middle School
Over the past decade, Pennsylvania’s Radnor Township School District (RTSD) has blazed a trail in building schools that are both good for the environment and good environments for students. Initially prompted on this path after one of its schools was forced to shut its doors due to mold contamination, the school district – and the Radnor Township community at-large – was prompted to make a priority of indoor air quality and environmental safety in its schools.
Gloria Marshall Elementary School
When the Spring Independent School District (ISD) began planning for the construction of its newest elementary building, of primary focus was sticking to a proven, budget-conscious design. However, school administrators quickly discovered that smart architectural planning, coupled with the right combination of contractors and materials, could mean the construction of a school on budget and on trend with the latest in sustainable building methods.
Poudre Valley School District
For almost two decades, the Poudre Valley School District (“PSD”) in Ft. Collins, Colo. has been a vanguard of energy conservation and management initiatives on a national level. In an era of ever-shrinking budgets, fewer dollars expended on energy means more of the district’s funds can go toward actual education. For PSD, it isn’t just about ‘being green’: reducing energy costs is essential to protecting the educational mission of the schools.
Western Heights Middle School
School districts across the United States are increasingly turning to geothermal heating-and-cooling systems due to overall energy and cost savings. Western Heights Middle School realized the benefit and installed a ClimateMaster geothermal system. Located within a mile of the ClimateMaster world headquarters, what makes this system even more interesting is the fact that the middle school also happens to be located in close proximity to Western Heights High School; equipped with conventional heating-and-cooling equipment that has been installed at various stages of its 40-plus-year history.
Colin L. Powell Middle School
When a new School District 159 middle school was needed in Matteson, Ill. – located in Cook County among the south Chicago suburbs – topping the district’s list of priorities were long-term energy-saving value and ample learning opportunities that would prepare students for a global career marketplace.
